About Dr. Cantos, DDS, FAOM

Dr. Cantos graduated from SUNYAB school of Dental Medicine in 1981 and went into private
practice at that time. He has been in private practice continuously since then. In 1983 he began
to treat patients in Skilled Nursing Facilities (Nursing Homes) as a separate part of his practice and became involved in dental research in the field of geriatric dentistry. Over time he opened his own office at 2264 Main Street in Buffalo. He became dental director at 8 different Skilled Nursing
Facilities and joined the staff at Sisters of Charity Hospital and Kenmore Mercy Hospital.

His involvement in academics also increased from his involvement in research to becoming a clinical
instructor in a postgraduate Geriatric Dentistry Fellowship. Currently Dr. Cantos is a clinical assistant professor at SUNYAB School of Dental Medicine, has recently qualified for fellowship status in the American Academy of Oral Medicine,and has a full time practice at his Main Street

location. His areas of interest include cosmetic dentistry, implant restoration, root canal therapy, periodontics ( treatment of gum disease),crowns and bridges, full and partial dentures. With his background in Geriatric Dentisry, he is comfortable treating patients with complex medical problems,
on numerous medications, or patients that are "difficult" to treat due to conditions such as Alzheimer's
disease, Parkinson's disease, Autism or Developmentally disabled individuals. The office is
handicap accessible and has early morning and evening hours.

Training

Dr. Cantos has taken over 500 hours of continuing education since finishing his formal training. He is always current in CPR and well versed in dental emergencies and medical emergencies. He has taken advanced training programs at NYU, Case Western University, at ADA annual meetings and at the Greater Niagara Dental meetings.

Personal

Dr. Albert Cantos comes originally from New York City. He is married and has one son. He lives in the city of Buffalo and enjoys theater, film and is a lover of reading. He is an avid bicyclist and is beginning
to explore boating.
